Park District Foundation welcomes gifts
From press release
For more than 28 years, the Rockford Park District Foundation has assisted the Rockford Park District honoring its mission of helping people enjoy life. Gifts made to the foundation can be made for a specific purpose, or to give support to programs and services provided by the Park District.
The many ways to give include cash or in-kind gifts, land donations, financial support for one of many youth or adult programs, or bequests.
Recently, the foundation announced it had received a challenge matching gift by an anonymous donor for $1.6 million to help fund the outdoor gardens, walkways, waterfalls, sculptures and plantings of the Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens (NCG).
This outdoor portion of the NCG construction project is estimated to cost $3.2 million to complete. The conservatory is scheduled to open in late fall 2011, and the target date for completion of the outdoor projects is spring 2012; the matching funds campaign will conclude in May 2011.
Charitable gifts made to the foundation are tax-deductible, and can have a lasting impact on the community.
