From press release
The Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has announced registration is now open for the Rock Valley Children’s Choirs’ spring 2011 semester.
The Rock Valley Children’s Choirs, directed by Leah Baskin, provide a safe place for children to make music together and make new friends. The program is composed of four choruses: Do Re Mi Singers (grades 1-3), Music Makers Chorus (grades 4-8), Master Singers Choir (grades 6-8; auditions required) and Encore (grades 9-12).
Each chorus rehearses once a week and participates in two concerts per semester, as well as other community events. The Do Re Mi Singers rehearse at Spring Creek United Church of Christ. The Music Makers Chorus, Master Singers Choir and Encore rehearse at MPAC.
Tuition is $125 per semester for the Do Re Mi Singers and $150 per semester for the Music Makers Chorus, Master Singers Choir and Encore. Discounts for families with more than one participating singer and limited scholarships are available.
Registration forms and payments will be taken at the first and second rehearsal of each choir, or may be mailed to MPAC. For more information, call MPAC at (815) 964-9713, visit mendelssohnpac.org or view the RVC Spring 2011 Community and Continuing Professional Education schedule at www.rockvalleycollege.edu/CE.
