Tinker Cottage offers general admission tours Dec. 28-30

Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum and Gardens will end the 2010 season with general admission tours at 1, 2 and 3 p.m., Dec. 28-30.
The winter schedule will go into effect Jan. 1, 2011, and continue through March 1, 2011, offering tours of Tinker Swiss Cottage on a reservation-only basis. Reservations may be made for any number of guests, including individuals, community, school or motor coach groups, to tour the cottage on any day of the week between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The average tour takes approximately one hour, and reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. The cost of the tour is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for students ages 5-17, and free for Tinker members and children 4 and younger.
A Valentine’s Day Open House is scheduled for 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12. A “make-your-own” pop-up Valentine workshop will take place in the Tinker Visitor Center Community Room between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m. A “Decorate a Valentine Cookie” table will be offered and punch will be served.
The Valentine activities are free with museum admission. Tours of Tinker Swiss Cottage will take place at 1, 2 and 3 p.m that day. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for students ages 5-17 and free for children 4 and younger. Members of Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum are always admitted free of charge.
The regular hours of operation will resume March 1, 2011, and will continue through Dec. 23, 2011. General admission tours of the cottage will be offered at 1, 2 and 3 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday. Group tours are welcome, and reservations may be made for eight or more visitors to tour the cottage on any day and at a time convenient to the group. Administrative hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tuesdays will be the “free or donation” day, beginning March 1.
