Astro-Weather: Week of Dec. 29-Jan. 4, 2011

By Guy Spiro

Wednesday, Dec. 29—A major energy running through today is definitely of the cautionary persuasion. Watch for some people to run into restrictions and frustrations and react badly to them. Some will take it all the way to violence. This is not an energy to fool around with, either, as a perpetrator or a victim. Consequences of running afoul of it can be harsher and longer lasting than usual. Of course, most people will not experience the worst of it, but you do not want to be among those who do. Be aware of and work around the moon void of course period that runs from 9:05 this morning until 2:49 this afternoon when the moon enters Scorpio. At that point, the energy will lift very noticeably, and general moods will tend to become somewhat more intense and passionate. Try to relax and take it easy through the void of course, tending to old business, but be prepared to hit the ground running as it ends.

Thursday, Dec. 30—Today’s biggest news is that Mercury turns direct either very late last night or early in today’s predawn after backing up in our sky since the 10th. As it picks up speed in direct motion over the next few days, many of the problems we’ve been having with communication, transportation and issues from the past will begin to clear up, and things will get back to normal. See the Retrograde pages at the beginning of the book for more about these periods. The high cautionary energy from yesterday will tend to linger through today, so reread and apply those warnings carefully. Minor energies are mixed through today with the best moods running through the late predawn into the early morning, and especially from the evening through the late night. This will likely be the beginning of the weekend for many people, so have fun tonight.

Friday, Dec. 31—It’s kind of unusual for there not to be major energy to have to be aware of and deal with on a New Year’s Eve, but that is the case this year. Some carryover from Wednesday’s cautions may occur, but that will be aftermath, in most cases, with those still actively embroiled just not letting go of it. Moods will be mixed in the early predawn. Take a friendly and communicative approach, and avoid coercive attitudes. Pay positive attention to relationships in the early morning. Moods may vacillate wildly from the mid-morning through the mid-day. Watch for general irritability and spaciness, and take an expansive, innovative and fun approach instead. The moon will be void of course from 1:57 this afternoon until 7:21 this evening, when the moon enters Sagittarius. At that point, the energy will lift very noticeably, and general moods will tend to become more expansive and open to a range of ideas. The festivities will receive a big boost in energy when the void of course ends. Don’t let little things get in the way of a great time tonight.

Saturday, Jan. 1—New Year’s Eve festivities will likely run strongly through today’s predawn. A major energy coming into focus through today bears watching, especially through the party scenes that will be dominant this weekend. Watch for a general spaciness and confusion, especially where the over-served and otherwise out-of-it are involved. Also, be careful in any dealings with authority, as the same cautions apply to those situations. Moods will be generally positive, and this should be a fun day and high-energy social Saturday night. Have a great time, but remember the cautionary energy.

Sunday, Jan. 2—High energy mentioned yesterday peaks this morning and remains very active through today. Reread and apply the warnings carefully. Another major energy that is a long-range outer-planet aspect supports the ongoing changes in U.S. society and the world toward greater liberality and enlightenment. Some positive indications should arise in the news media regarding these kinds of things. Minor energies are mixed. Good moods should run through the predawn, and late-night party people will have a good time, but need to remember the cautions. Most of the daytime is open, and good moods should run from the late afternoon well into the evening. Do be aware that the moon will be void of course from 8:08 tonight into tomorrow’s early predawn.

Monday, Jan. 3—Last night’s moon void of course period ends at 1:39 this morning, when the moon enters Capricorn. At that point, the energy will lift, and general moods will tend to become more down-to-earth and concerned with accomplishment. Be aware of two major energies today. The first easily brings problems to relationships, especially where those overdoing recreational substances and the otherwise out-of-it are involved. Watch for spaciness, confusion and misunderstanding. Switch to damage control, and ride this out if it pops up for you. The second is the new moon, which is exact in tomorrow’s predawn, effectively making today and tomorrow new moon day. Be very careful what you put into motion today.

Tuesday, Jan. 4—The new moon is exact at 3:03 this morning. It is also an eclipse, which serves to intensify its effect. Remember that what you start around new moon brings results at the next full moon. Obviously, it pays to start things you want to see the results of and not to start what you don’t want. This particular new to full moon period is one of the most positive we’ve had for some time. Start anything having to do with spirituality, science, technology, magic and any other beneficial thing that is important to you. Yesterday’s cautionary relationship energy remains with us through today, but it is joined by two more major energies that are related, but much more positive. Take a fun, innovative and expansive approach, and any damage from yesterday can be fixed while the rest of us can have a great time taking relationships to new levels. Make good use of these energies. Another major energy is related to the long-range, outer-planet aspect from Sunday. Progress in U.S. society—and in the world at large—should continue to be seen in the headlines.
