As a parent of a Washington Academy student as well as a CAPA high school student, I can tell you that we will not have our kids in 205 public schools if these programs are shut down. We are looking into private schools($ is an issue for our family), moving out of Rockford. Our last resort would be a home school program of some sort. I do not know any parents that will allow their children to be put into dead schools where they will not meet their potential. I have spoken to many families that have already put plans into action to MOVE out of Rockford. Is this a good thing for Rockford's economy? It is kind of like the final nail in the coffin for this city.
