Boone County Heirloom Seed Sale Feb. 19

BELVIDERE, Ill.—Saturday, Feb. 19, the Boone County Conservation District Cultural Heritage Gardens will host an Heirloom Vegetable Seed Sale at the Roger Gustafson Nature Center at 603 Appleton Road in Belvidere, Ill. Hours for the sale will be 1-5 p.m.

Heirloom Vegetable Seeds from Seed Savers, Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds and the Boone County Conservation District Cultural Heritage Gardens will be offered for sale. New to this year’s sale are heirloom flower seeds and native plant seeds.

Free seed company catalogs and garden handouts will be available as well.

The Boone County Master Gardeners will present two programs: Organic Vegetable Gardening at 1:15 p.m., and Ergonomic Gardening at 2:20 p.m. The final program, Prairie Restoration and Landscaping with Native Plants, will be presented by Boone County Conservation District staff at 3:30 p.m.
