Feb. 14 Valentine’s Day party at Kryptonite, hip hop show benefit

Local entertainment businessman C. Hare of Borgota, in conjunction with Kryptonite Bar, will present a packed night of fun and entertainment on Valentine’s Day, Monday, Feb. 14, starting at 8 p.m. For lovebirds going out on dates, or single men and women looking for fun, Kryptonite, 308 W. State St., is the place to be.
From 8 to 10 p.m., listen to the first-ever 662online.com Mix CD, hosted by Power 106.3 FM’s DJ Jumpoff. The CD will be free to the first 25 people through the door, and Jumpoff will be playing the entire disk as people arrive, leading up to 10 p.m. The disk features new songs and exclusives by Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Yelawolf, Fresco, Curren$y and many more.
At 10 p.m., the entertainment starts off with DJ Jumpoff on the turntables leading into a few performances by Rockford’s most popular hip hop artists, The Covert Empire (Ryebread and Black Lung) and A-West, newcomer Deuce Jibri and national act from New Jersey, Kosha Dillz. This act has been featured in many national hip hop websites and magazines, has toured with Snoop Dogg and currently has a song on the NBA 2K11 soundtrack.
Kosha is mostly known as the Jewish rapper, legendary Battle Rapper, who has crazy word play, fun songs, hidden political messages, and gives a great live performance. His stop in Rockford is part of his Maine-to-Los Angeles tour called “Give Me Five Tour,” with proceeds benefitting the Tipitina’s Foundation. This event is hosted by local party man Marky D, and the cover is $5.
