‘Rally to Save our Public Schools’ at Unitarian Universalist Church tonight (Feb. 21)

A “Rally to Save our Public Schools” is set for 6:30 p.m., tonight (Monday, Feb. 21), at Unitarian Universalist Church, 4848 Turner St., Rockford.

Featured speaker is Noel Hammatt, former president of the Louisiana School Boards Association and former vice president of the East Baton Rouge Parish (La.) School Board.

The rally will focus on the proposed closure of eight Rockford Public School District 205 schools, which the Rockford Board of Education will vote on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
