I've known him and worked with him for 10 years. His command of student data and its true meaning will stand the most demanding scrutiny; and will not be found wanting. His differences with the Louisiana RSD are mild compared to what should be seen as one of the worst experiments in the history of public education. What the RSD has done is relegate poor black students to the bottom 30+ schools in Louisiana so as to boost the school performance scores of a few charters. I am now retired. He and I have often disagreed on issues at hand. However, I can't ever imagine he would say that minority students CAN'T learn.
