Literary Hook: A poem for those who have endured this brutal winter

Here is an interesting poem that can be understood both literally and symbolically. Carol Fox, the author, is a retired educator, state librarian, mother and grandmother, as well as a member of the Tuesday Writers. It’s a good poem for those of us who have endured this particularly brutal winter. Enjoy!
Old Fox
I do not worry about truth
Or wonder at my wasted youth
Or pray my life will stricken be
Of listlessness and misery
I stand and hope
I will endure
The cold of winter
Stark and pure
Then press the snow
Beneath my feet
And trot along
My lonely street
