We encountered no significant changes in teachers contracts, wages and benefits or other increases in expenses in that time. $67 million is MORE than the deficit budget of $41 million our school board passed last summer...it is MORE than the RPS205 assumed deficit of $50 million that we are told to expect for next year. $67 million dollars more to operate our schools is a lot of money to be spending. What is it being spent on? Especially at a time when we are told we MUST close schools and eliminate educational services to our children. $67 million dollars is a LOT of money. RPS205 is spending $67 million more dollars to run our schools this year than we used to run them JUST 2 years ago. As a taxpayer, I am appalled that there is NOT a 4 member quorum on the school board to not only rid us of these leeches but to investigate the monies expended since Sheffield arrived. I am hopeful that when Kelley leaves and Westholder is defeated, there will be some sanity brought back to our school board voting!! In the meantime, EVERYONE should email the entire board and let them know how angry we taxpayers are with this train wreck!!
