‘Ramp It Up’ Poster Contest deadline set for March 18

The deadline for Rockford Art Museum’s (RAM) “Ramp It Up” Poster Contest has been extended to March 18.

What does the fringe subculture of alternative extreme sports look like? Rockford Art Museum presents the “Ramp It Up”  Poster Contest and “Ramp It Up” Warehouse Party in conjunction with “Full Deck: A Short History of Skate Art,” a traveling exhibition on view May 6-Aug. 14 at RAM.

The contest is open to anyone age 18 or older. Submissions must be original artwork and may be prints of digital artwork. Designs can employ any graphic media, and should be graphically attractive and a dynamic message. Size of the poster entry must be 11 inches by 17 inches. Poster artwork must be two-dimensional. Accepted entries to the Poster Contest will be on display at the Warehouse Party (April 1, 7 p.m., at Pirate Ninja Print Shop in downtown Rockford), where guests will vote to determine the top three winners.

First prize is $500, second prize $300 and third prize $100. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry, plus $5 for each additional entry. Up to three entries can be made per artist. Fees are nonrefundable, and must be sent with submission. Entry fees include free admission to the “Ramp It Up” Warehouse Party.
