According to Illinois Rep. Naomi Jakobsson (D-Champaign), the green industry is booming and won’t slow any time soon.
Calling the green sector the “wave of the future,” Jakobsson urged Illinois business owners this week to take advantage of a sizable pool of grant funds available trough the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Approximately $15 million is available in two grants. One is to fund cost-cutting energy products for large energy users throughout the state.
The other grant will help green businesses manufacture recycled products, fund renewable energy projects and produce biomass crops.
The deadline to apply is April 4.
Business owners are encouraged to call the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
