Project First Rate to host Second Annual Public Construction Workshop
Project First Rate invites all elected officials, municipal officials, municipal board members, procurement officers, directors of purchasing, FOIA compliance personnel and contractors to the Second Annual Public Construction Workshop.
This event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, at the IBEW Banquet Facility, 6820 Mill Road, Rockford. Registration will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. with coffee and networking.
The workshop is being held because effective Jan. 1, 2011, changes were made to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Freedom of Information Act.
The people mentioned above are invited to attend this seminar to understand and learn how these new laws affect their organization. Also, 3.75 hours of continued education credit will be approved through the Illinois MCLE Board for attending Labor Law and Municipal Law attorneys only for attending this event.
Speakers will be: Matt Rogina, Illinois Attorney General’s public access counselor; Tom Whalen, Illinois Department of Labor; Anthony Nozzi, OSHA; Scott Christiansen, Winnebago County Board chairman; Mickey Goral, Rockford Township supervisor; and Associate Professor Robert Bruno, University of Illinois.
