‘Eco Fashion from India’ set for April 8

Local nonprofit business Jhoole will present “Eco Fashion from India” from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 8, at Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club, 5151 Guilford Road, Rockford.

Jhoole, founded by Rockford native Hannah Warren, is an eco fashion “social enterprise” designed to benefit people living in poverty.

The event will feature hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, fashion show installations of the Jhoole 2011 collection, designs by Karishma Shahani and Amy Sol, and a presentation by Warren about the origins of Jhoole and what it does to transform the lives of women.

Jhoole artwork and textiles will be available for purchase, and a team from the Rotary International headquarters in Evanston, Ill., will film the event.

Admission is $15 plus a goodwill offering that will go toward Jhoole’s training and production facility in Madhya Pradesh, India.
