Beckman Mill Park hosts volunteer training orientation April 9

BELOIT, Wis.—Beckman Mill Park is a stateline treasure, just 6 miles west of Beloit, Wis. The park encompasses 50 acres of historic and environmental attractions, including a restored 1868 grist mill, covered foot bridge, blacksmith shop, mill pond and dam, fish ladder, and nature trail.
Mill and park tours are conducted every Saturday and Sunday, May through October, from 1 to 4 p.m. Group tours—schools, tourist groups, etc.—may be arranged by appointment.
Although the park is the property of Rock County, it is completely staffed by volunteers who run the tours, operate the mill, greet visitors, work special events, and run the gift shop.
A volunteer training orientation is is scheduled for 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 9, at Beckman Mill, 11600 S. County Road H, Beloit, Wis.
Those interested in becoming a volunteer should call (608) 751-1551 to register for the orientation. Volunteers can work as little or as much as is convenient for their schedules.
