Find Your Space
By Gale Ketteler
Womanspace Program Coordinator & Marketing Specialist
Ticket sales are closed for this Saturday’s (April 16) Spring Luncheon with Joan Anderson, but you could still win one of the fabulous raffle prizes even if you’re not there.
Our six packages are valued up to $1,750 with tickets at just $10 each or eight for $50, and winners need not be present. See www.womanspace-rockford.org for details, package values, and online raffle ticket purchases.
Prizes include a week at a Sedona Arizona Resort for up to eight people, a three-night Door County Getaway in Sister Bay, Wis., for up to eight people, a two-day VIP pass for four people to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, a Gourmet Wine Dinner with limo for six people, an RV Day Trip for up to 12 people with Adventures with Jill, and a Family Photo Package from Clabough Photography.
You designate which prize you want to win for each raffle ticket, so purchasing eight for $50 will increase the odds of winning your favorite package. Sponsors of our Spring Luncheon are The Law Office of Jim Black & Associates, Kathy Flanagan-Leadership Communication, Sandra J. Slaga, Attorney at Law, David Boccignone-Ameriprise Financial, Stanley Steemer, Dr. Ruth Ora Jackson-Consultation to Human Systems, Rockford Wellness & Diagnostic Center, StateFarm Agent Lisa Mawyer, B103, WNTA and Rockford Woman.
Only one week remains to see prize-winning art by local children at Womanspace. Both “Why I Love Art” in Gallery 3 and Women: Circling the World in Gallery 1 end April 20.
Then, we have a special opening reception for two new art exhibits April 29, and you’re invited! Upstart Spring will honor the season with landscapes in Gallery 1, and the annual Star Student Show will feature our artists of all ages with a variety of work in Gallery 3.
Collage for Fun is a perennial favorite class with Barb Santucci starting April 19. Dorothy Bock shares an Art Lecture on Pablo Picasso April 21, and Acrylic & Oil Painting with Tom Harrison starts May 3.
Those with substantial experience throwing pots can request permission to take Cathy Hodge’s Intermediate Wheel Thrown Pottery starting May 2, and Norm Knott leads a fun Keepsake for Mom box-decorating artshop May 7.
Following the film The Keeper: The Legend of Omar Khyyam April 21, Pardis Haghdoost hosts a discussion of this trailblazing 11th-century Persian. Then, come laugh it up at It’s Complicated April 25. Women will learn Core and Pelvic Floor Exercises April 20 at a Lunch and Learn, and Rastafari and Santería are featured in a World Religion Lunch and Learn May 4.
Our special “Bring a Friend for Free” (f4f) promotion ends soon, so please invite a potential member to join you. Eligible programs under $20 are marked in Your Guide and our weekly Intertwinings e-news (subscribe for free on our website!). Visit www.facebook.com/Womanspace to see our new Pavilion construction photos, and visit our campus soon to pick up your copy of the new May-August Your Guide!
