Brio celebrates six years with April 29 Comedy Roast

Paul Sletten, owner and chef of Brio and Social restaurants on “Block 5” in downtown Rockford, has been a key figure in re-energizing downtown as well as bringing creative and inspired original dishes to guests of his restaurants and catering business.
Paul and his wife and chef, Karen, recently announced they are once again ready to turn the tables on the local restaurant scene, with a fresh update to Brio, a Rockford original.
Over the next few weeks, guests of Brio, 515 E. State St., will start to notice changes to the interior design of the building. Meanwhile, Paul, Karen and their staff will be putting the finishing touches on their new spring menu.
From 9 p.m. to midnight, April 29, Paul and Karen will celebrate six years of Brio with a traditional Comedy Roast. Local personalities will provide entertainment as they share their personal anecdotes about the history of Brio (and, of course, Paul Sletten)! The roast will be broadcast in the bar that night.
The Slettens will have a secret announcement and unveiling to share with guests of both events that evening.
Paul Sletten opened Brio in January 2005 and Social, 509 E. State St., in May 2010.
