May 1 deadline for Biking for the Arts registration

– Four area arts organizations team up for Sept. 11 fund-raiser

Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Rockford Dance Company, Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center and Kantorei will participate in and benefit from a Biking for the Arts (BART) fund-raiser Sept. 11.
The event will raise funds and awareness for the organizations while also promoting community health and togetherness.
Three different rides will be offered: a 5-mile family fun ride, a 35-mile ride, and a 64-mile ride. All routes will begin and end at Rockford’s Riverfront Museum Park.
Musical performances will take place along each of the routes. Funds raised by the event will be divided evenly among the four groups.
A community celebration will be held following the completion of all of the rides. BART will coincide with other regional events recognizing the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11.
BART registration will begin May 1. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Contact any participating organization for more information.
