Raw Energy: Perspective on raw foods

According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, it is projected employment growth will be the largest within the medical field, more so for those in the medical field who diagnose, perform tests, and pharmacy technicians, to name a few.
Naturopathic means are becoming more popular and desireable among many, yet there are still many who are close-minded and unwilling to change or listen. Why is that when so many are in a poor state of health and in need of change?
Most medications do not cure, but mask symptoms and add toxicity to our system. Toxic lifestyles and the lack of nutrition are typically the source of our health problems today. Fresh organic produce provides clean, nutritious foods that nourish our body, enabling our body to heal, regenerate and excel.
Thankfully, more people are becoming aware of the importance of organic foods and getting back to eating food from the garden. The availability of knowledge and resources to live healthy and well is abundant. However, too many people are still making a vast number of bad decisions about their health.
About two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight. One in six are pre-diabetic or diabetic. More than 10 million are taking anti-depressants. Health conditions including cancer, sleep disorders, Alzheimer’s, childhood disorders, ADD, ADHD, etc., continue to rise. Often, the source to resolving a person’s health issues is based on what they eat.
Take a look at what is in your grocery cart. I continue to be amazed at the high percentage of “dead” food vs. fresh produce in grocery carts while in the checkout line. People must take responsibility for their health if we are going to stop this alarming increase of disease.
From personal experience, I am a firm believer in living an abundant diet of fresh raw fruits and vegetables. No one says you have to give up everything. Some may cut back, reduce or minimize those comfort food portions or substitute ingredients for healthier choices.
Anyone can experience an improved level of health by eating at least 50 percent raw foods. Why not eat those comfort foods if they taste great if you simply need to substitute some ingredients and change how you make them? Many may be surprised at what delicious foods can be created using fresh produce. One of my recent favorites is making meatless “taco meat” with zucchini. I LOVE IT!
