Rock River Trail: 10,000 oaks for the Rock River

[1]Doesn’t look like it—but 10,000 oak trees are in that truck! We’re all loaded up and ready to go! That’s what the grins are about by John Bostrom (from left) and Ashley Stover of Living Lands and Waters in Port Byron, Ill., and The Rock River Times and the Rock River Trail tree delivery driver John Lamar. The swamp, bur, red and white oak trees were successfully delivered to the 11 counties on the Rock River in Illinois and Wisconsin April 13-15, 2011. Thanks to all who made this possible! Literally, the shores of the Rock River will be greener in every way for many years to come because of your fine work and splendid cooperation.
