Bob Evans resigns from Rockford Board of Education
Online Staff Report
Bob Evans, who was re-elected to the Rockford Board of Education April 5, has resigned.
According to a story first reported by WTVO Channel 17, Evans submitted a letter of resignation to outgoing District 205 Superintendent Dr. LaVonne M. Sheffield and Board of Education President David Kelley.
As of Thursday evening, April 21, Kelley and Sheffield had possession of the letter.
Evans, according to published reports, says he is no longer able to balance his professional commitments with those required as a school board member.
Evans represents Sub District-E and ran unopposed in his re-election bid this year.
Sources say the school board will now accept letters from candidates willing to fill Evans’ vacant seat.

Please investigate this RRT because I was told that Bob threw a tizzy fit when he couldn’t get other board members to back him as president of the new board so “he took his ball & went home”. If this is true, Bob should be ASHAMED. He evidentally did NOT have the children’s best interest at heart as he led us to believe.
