Report: Osama bin Laden audio tape release expected

Less than 24 hours since arch-terrorist Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces, an audio tape, believed to be from the Al Qaeda leader, is expected to be released sometime Monday, May 2.
According to reports, Osama bin Laden made the tape as a martyr’s farewell and instructed clerics to release it if he was captured or killed.
While it hasn’t been confirmed, the tape is said to be among several items seized by Navy Seals during the raid of the mansion-like compound where Osama bin Laden was hiding Sunday, May 1.
It is not yet known what is on the tape, however, published reports speculate the message may include warnings to the United States and other Al Qaeda enemies that further terrorist attacks are on the horizon.
Some also claim that Osama bin Laden’s death has sparked tensions between Pakistani and U.S. officials. The White House was reportedly hesitant to communicate with Pakistani leaders that forces were set to capture or kill the world’s most-wanted terror suspect inside the country.
Insiders say President Barack Obama, who was involved in the plan to seize or kill bin Laden for several months, chose to keep the operation a secret in fear the Pakistani government would allow him to slip away.
Meantime, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, and others, have chosen to not to air the tape if it is released to the media.
“You won’t be getting it from me,” Cooper said Monday afternoon. “(Osama bin Laden) is a mass murderer and there’s no reason we should hear his voice ever again.”
