In celebration of the Cinco de Mayo, RAMBA has announced their upcoming Sixth Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival. The celebration brings the sound, culture and taste of Mexico and Latin America to Rockford.
The festival is scheduled from noon to midnight, Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 in Davis Park, 300 S. Wyman St., Rockford. It will include two days of fun, food, activities for the whole family, live entertainment by international, regional and local bands, fiesta for everyone, carnival rides and much more. Donation before the event is $10; children younger than10 are admitted free.
RAMBA is sad to announce the cancellation of the Cinco de Mayo Parade because of the high cost of permits and security.
This event is supported by U.S. Rep. Donald Manzullo, State Sen. Dave Syverson, State Rep. Chuck Jefferson, Mayor Larry Morrissey, Winnebago County Baord Chairman Scott Christiansen, Sheriff Richard Meyers, Chief of Police Chet Epperson, Judge Fernando Engelsma, Rockford Park District, Comcast, Joe Marino of the 4th of July Committee, LaMonica Beverages, The Rock River Times, Pepsi, Blackhawk Bank, SeriCom and many others.
