Rosecrance Flower Day at Gensler Gardens helps families in need get addiction treatment
Good reasons to shop at Gensler Gardens’ two locations Thursday, May 5:
- You can delight Mom, a friend, or yourself with beautiful flowers for Mother’s Day.
- It’s time to dig in the dirt and plant flowers at home.
- You’ll be helping adolescents from financially-strapped families get treatment for substance use abusers.
“The Gensler family has been extraordinarily generous with Rosecrance through the years by designating this day right before Mother’s Day to raise money for The Kinley Charity Care Fund,” said Lynne Vass, senior vice president of development for the Rosecrance Foundation. “Every year, the Genslers give a hefty portion of the sales on this day to Rosecrance to help kids get the care they need.”
Rosecrance Flower Day at Gensler Gardens will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at both Gensler greenhouses: 8631 11th St., New Milford, and 102 Orth Road, Loves Park.
Shoppers may choose from greenhouses filled with lush hanging baskets, potted planters, bedding plants including geraniums, impatiens, marigolds, pansies, begonia and petunias, and many varieties of perennials.
In addition, shoppers may enter a drawing at each location to win a $25 gift certificate at Gensler Gardens. The forms are available at each greenhouse on the day of the event.
Vass said there’s one more reason to shop at Gensler Gardens Thursday, May 5. “We’ll have volunteers at each location to help you carry your plants to your vehicles, put down the plastic to keep your trunk clean and load them for you,” she said. “It couldn’t be easier!”
Last year, about 200 families received more than $300,000 in assistance for treatment from The Kinley Charity Care Fund. Besides the Rosecrance Foundation’s annual benefit, Flower Day is the agency’s largest fund-raiser.
