Crime: One arrested as police bust marijuana operation

A 29-year-old Rockford man was arrested Thursday after police raided an indoor marijuana growing operation on the city’s south side.

Humberto Trevino, Jr., was take into custody at 1011 12th St., when officers from the Rockford Police Narcotics Unit seized 420 grams of processed marijuana an 23 plants in various stages of growth.

Trevino was charged with unlawful use of cannabis sativa plants and was awaiting a court hearing as of this report. It is not known whether he has an attorney.
