News: Former District 205 official investigated for alleged inappropriate text messages to student

The Rockford Police Department is investigating whether a former Public School District 205 employee had an alleged role in what has been reported as a series of inappropriate text messages.
According to published reports by WTVO Channel 17/FOX 39, Monday, May 9, an unknown number of messages, believed to be of a sexual nature, were allegedly sent by the former official to a male District 205 student.
As of this report, it was unknown whether the student involved in the alleged string of messages is a minor.
The Rock River Times received an unconfirmed report of the alleged incident last month and sent a request to District 205 officials for mobile phone records under the Freedom of Information Act April 21.
April 28, Freedom of Information Act Officer Chris Euhus replied to the request, stating that text message records are not maintained in district archives.
However, it was later confirmed that a police investigation of the matter is ongoing.
