An investigation revealed the boy was taken out of school Wednesday morning and his mother made calls to friends later in the week, stating her son was unharmed. The boy and his mother were reported missing Friday by Fry-Pitzen’s husband.
Police said Fry-Pitzen also left a note stating she was leaving the boy in the care of unnamed individuals.
She may have traveled to Iowa before killing herself in Rockford.
