Work-at-home and fraudulent employment opportunities. Work-at-home and business opportunity scams are frequently found online as well as in the classified sections. They promise high income for minimal work and minimal effort. However, when an interested consumer “applies”, they almost always ask for money up-front to pay for materials, training kits, or investment money. After sending payment, most consumers either have their checks deposited and never hear anything again, or obtain something that is completely useless- essentially junk mail. Internet employment opportunities, mostly found on job boards, looking for “shipping” or “billing managers”, “payment processors”, or anything with a financial sounding name, very frequently turn out to be fraudulent listings that are in actuality looking for victims to commit money laundering by accepting and forwarding payments.

Apprenticeship Opportunity

NOTICE OF APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Painters & Allied trades District Council #30 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Fund will accept applications year round at the District Council Apprenticeship School located at 1905 Sequoia Drive, Aurora, Illinois. Trades include – Painting (Residential-Commercial-Industrial), Drywall Finishers & Glaziers (in certain areas).
All applicants must meet the following qualifications:
1. Age – 17 (minimum)
2. Education – Furnish a High School transcript of your grades or a copy of your High School Diploma, or a copy of GED. This must be provided at the start of classes. (applicants must get Letter of Intent to Hire from employer)
All applicants must be a legal resident.
All applications will be kept on file for a period of 2 years. It is recommended that you keep your records current at the Apprenticeship office.
The number of qualified applicants placed in “on the job” training, depends on the demand for labor in the jurisdiction of Painters District Council No. 30.
Applicants should understand that the Painting, Decorating and Drywall Finishing Industry will require, in order to protect your health and safety, regulations that must be followed as determined by each job assignment. May require movement from job site to job site, at times, is a seasonal occupation and have the ability to work heights (ladders & scaffolding).
Classroom instruction will begin at different times during the year. Classes must be attended. Each class is of 8 hours duration, the term of apprenticeship is 3 years.
