Spring cleaning? Buy two, donate one!

Staff Report

The dust bunnies are flying, window streaks are disappearing, fresh lemon scent fills the air in the kitchen… well, at least for families who can afford cleaning supplies to keep their kitchens (and homes) sparkling and clean. Other individuals and families are not quite fortunate enough to have the funds to spend on necessities for cleaning and disinfecting a home. Which is why Carpenter’s Place is teaming up with partners in the Rockford area such as Northern Illinois Medical Group, 5301 E. State St., Ste. 101, Rockford, to do a spring cleaning supply drive.

During May and the first part of June, Northern Illinois Medical Group (NIMG) will be accepting donations of much-needed cleaning supplies for Carpenter’s Place (CP) guests.

These guests currently reside in their housing, working their way through many of the programs that CP offers to help them rebuild their lives. However, they need the support of the community to obtain the supplies listed below in order to accomplish their own spring cleaning.

All-purpose cleaner, bleach, laundry soap, toilet bowl cleaner, Comet/Ajax, Pinesol/Lysol cleaner, dish soap, Windex.

Donations are being accepted at the following locations: Northern Illinois Medical Group, 5301 E. State St., Ste. 101; Serenity Massage & Aesthetics, 5301 E. State St., Ste. 123; The Carpenter’s Place, 1149 Railroad Ave.
