Discovery Center celebrates Independence Day July 1, 4

Rockford’s Discovery Center Museum will explore chemistry, physics, art and music and how they relate to Independence Day July 1 and July 4.

Spud guns, rockets, sparklers, flags, science and art join hands for a weekend celebration. Add to the fire-raising excitement with your own light and sound creations. Experiment with explosions, launch mini rockets and more from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, July 1, and 1-4 p.m., Monday, July 4.

July 4, leave your car parked at the Discovery Center and take the short walk downtown to the parade and fireworks. Activities included with general admission to the museum.

Discovery Center is inside Riverfront Museum Park at 711 N. Main St. General admission is $7 adults, $7 children (ages 2-17) and free to museum members and children 1 and younger.
