Rockford teacher receives Habitat fellowship
A Rockford Public School District 205 teacher was selected as one of 10 educators who will participate in the 2011 Habitat for Humanity Teacher Fellows program.
Rebecca Roth, who worked as a teacher at ACE High School last year, will travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., where she and other fellows will rebuild a Habitat home. As part of the program, the group will learn about the community they are rebuilding, visit nonprofit organizations that are making a difference in that community and meet the family who will be impacted by their work. Upon their return, the teachers are expected to lead a Habitat project with students and share their new knowledge with fellow educators.
