Sevendust headlines at Logan’s in Freeport July 9
Staff Report
Sevendust, Adelitas Way, Violence to Vegas and Emphatic will perform a hard-rock mega-show at Logan’s Bar & Grill in Freeport Saturday, July 9.
Sevendust is a heavy metal band formed in Atlanta in 1994 by bassist Vince Hornsby, drummer Morgan Rose and guitarist John Connolly. Their self-titled debut in 1997 earned gold status.
Since formation, Sevendust has released eight studio albums, earned additional charting success and gold sales certifications. Their eighth studio album, Cold Day Memory, was released April 20, 2010. They have also re-released their self-titled debut album as Sevendust: Definitive Edition, which contains five new tracks and a DVD.
Adelitas Way is on tour in support of its second release, Home School Valedictorian, which hit stores June 7 on Virgin Records.
The band, which is vocalist Rick DeJesus, guitarist Keith Wallen, bassist Derek Johnston, and drummer Trevor Stafford, has been in the studio in Los Angeles with producer Dave Bassett (Shinedown) recording since September of last year. The lead single, “Sick,” was No. 1 most added to Active Rock Radio for two weeks in a row. “Sick,” in the first week of release, was the Hot Shot debut in the Billboard Rock Chart.
Home School Valedictorian is the follow-up to Adelitas Way’s self-titled debut album, which AllMusic said “sizzles with rage, sex, and regret…the band kicks up enough noise to satisfy even the most dogmatic hard rock junkie.”
Logan’s Bar & Grill is at 1805 S. West Ave., Freeport, and can be reached at (815) 232-4592.
