Upcoming hearings on wind ordinances
North Boone Community Unit School District No. 200, Board of Education, 6:30 p.m., Monday, July 25. (The issue may also be addressed at the July 7 Meeting of the Whole Committee.) Meetings are held at the District Administrative Offices, 6248 N. Boone School Road, Poplar Grove, IL 61065.
Scheduled Lee County Zoning Board of Appeals meetings: These meetings will begin at 7 p.m. on the third floor of the Lee County Old Courthouse, 112 E. Second St., Dixon, IL 61021.
June 23, a review of existing ordinances and conditions for Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) was held. A short meeting was scheduled and a process outline was agreed upon by the board. A hearing request for wind turbines was submitted, and the board agreed to have it July 21.
The Lee County Zoning Board of Appeals meetings scheduled are: July 7 (Discussion), July 21. (The hearing request related to wind turbines was made for this date, with possible continuation of the hearing Aug. 4, Aug. 18, Sept. 1, Oct. 6, Nov. 3 and Dec. 1.)

Meetings will be held on the third floor of the Ogle County Courthouse, 105 S. Fifth St., Oregon, Ill. at 6 p.m., July 7, 14, 21, and 28 on proposed amendments to the text of the Ogle County wind ordinance.
The Winnebago Zoning Committee voted June 22 to reconsider the parts of the county’s wind ordinance. It directed the Zoning Board of Appeals to hold public hearings about “certain zoning ordinance amendments (for proposed Commercial Wind Power generation Facilities, a.k.a. Wind-operated Energy Devices — commercial regulations), requested by Gamesa Energy USA, c/o Ryan Ammermann, project manager, represented by Steven Cox, attorney.” That hearing has not been set, but questions concerning it may be addressed to Troy Krup, Planning & Zoning Officer, Phone: (815) 319-4350, e-mail: email@example.com.
