Visitors Bureau, RAVE, Park District, airport and Hotel Motel Association to rally for casino July 8

Officials representing the region’s tourism industry will announce their support for the Rockford Casino Coalition’s campaign and encourage Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn (D) to sign the gaming expansion bill at a rally at 1 p.m., Friday, July 8, at Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB), 102 N. Main St.
Led by RACVB, speakers will include representatives from Rockford Area Venues & Entertainment Authority (RAVE), Rockford Park District, Chicago-Rockford International Airport and Rockford Area Hotel Motel Association.
Speakers will provide details about the additional jobs and revenue that will be created by a Rockford casino based on the expected influx of visitors to the region.
The Rockford Casino Coalition was formed in support for the gaming expansion bill (Senate Bill 0744) and encourages Quinn to sign the bill. The coalition’s founding partners represent more than 1,500 organizations and their 60,000 employees.
