Everything’s free: ‘Calvary Cares’ giveaway event July 23

In an effort to be a source of comfort and compassion to those in the stateline area who are going through this tough economic time, Calvary Christian Church and its members are hosting the second annual “Calvary Cares” giveaway event starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, July 23.
Items will be available completely free of charge to anyone in the area who may need them. These are clothes, furniture, appliances, etc., which are gently used and in good condition. This event will be at the church building at 5455 Charles St., Rockford.
Donations will be accepted July 14-22 at the church building. Anyone from the community is welcome to donate items in good condition and will be given a receipt for their charitable gift. Donations can be dropped off at the church between 9 and 11 a.m. or 4 and 6 p.m., Monday-Friday. Call the church at (815) 398-4940 if you need to have larger items picked up.
