Wind mills are toys. For the last week we have been in a heat wave. Our power usage is maxed out. And what are the wind mills doing? Sitting idle. I have been watching the Grand Ridge wind wills all week and driving past the Mendota Hills Wind Farm. They are not tuning a majority of the time. They cannot be counted on as part of our power capacity so we need to build reliable generation to make up for the renewable energy short fall. It is like owning a classic car that you won't drive in bad weather. You have to own another vehicle that you can count on. It costs a lot of money to own an extra car just like it cost a lot of money to build wind mills that are not needed. They are toys that the public is paying for.
