Man sentenced to 15 years for role in 2009 shooting death

Christopher D. Valentine, 21, was sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
The offense arose out of the Jan. 19, 2009, shooting death of Andre Ausler at 4026 Auburn St., in Rockford.
Second-degree murder is a Class 1 felony with a sentencing range of four to 20 years in the Department of Corrections to be followed by two years of mandatory supervised release.
