Park District activates spray pads through Sunday, July 24, to help residents cool off

Rockford Park District will activate spray pads at area parks this week to assist area residents in cooling off from excessive heat.

Spray pads will be turned on daily from noon until 5 p.m. at the following locations: Beattie Playground, Black Hawk Park, Brown Park, Churchill Park, S. Henrietta Park, Harmon Park, Keye-Mallquist Park, Liberty Park, Washington Park and Mandeville Park.

Should a citizen want a spray pad to be activated, they should call (815) 987-8800 when the heat index is at least 85 degrees.
