Find out ‘Does It Float?’ July 22 at Discovery Center

Float a boat, sink a submarine, and make your own toy at Discovery Center Museum for their “Does It Float?” event from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, July 22.
Investigate buoyancy and help dunk computer monitors, bowling balls and other oddball objects in a giant tank to see if they float or sink. Use colored bubbles to float a masterpiece. Does ice cream float or sink in root beer? Find out while sipping a tasty treat.
Admission is included with museum admission: $7 per person or free for Discovery Center members and children younger than 1.
Discovery Center is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. Regular hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m., Sunday; and until 7 p.m. Thursdays through August. Call (815) 963-6769 or visit discoverycentermuseum.org [1].. Quinn signed the reforms in June. The federal government has not yet weighed in on those changes.
