Mr. Nicky to perform at Discovery Center July 23
Mr. Nicky will bring his unique brand of hilarious and educational children’s music to Discovery Center Museum for an 11 a.m. performance Saturday, July 23.
Admission is included with museum admission: $7 per person or free for Discovery Center members and children younger than 1.
Mr. Nicky (Dan Nicky) has been playing children’s music for seven years. As a certified teacher, Mr. Nicky loves to infuse his music with abundant learning opportunities.
A skilled guitarist, vocalist and percussionist, Nicky polished his musical talents for three years at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago before releasing his debut CD, Rattlesnakes for Breakfast, in 2004.
His hit song, “Too Many Beans,” reached No. 1 on XM Kids radio, remaining in the top 13 for 24 weeks. He released his second CD, Mr. Nicky’s Science Project, in 2006. Both CDs are being played on satellite radio stations and web casts across the country.
Discovery Center is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. Regular hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m., Sunday; and until 7 p.m., Thursdays through August.
