Downtown road closures this weekend for Greek Fest

Three road closures will divert downtown traffic this weekend, July 23-24, for Greek Fest.
Beginning Friday, July 22, Market Street from State Street to Fourth Street and Fifth Street from State to Jefferson Street will be closed to accommodate the festival. The roads will be closed until Monday, July 25 at noon.
Traffic officers will be directing motorist and pedestrian traffic throughout the event.
The festival from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 108 N. Fifth St., Rockford.
Officials are urging motorists to use caution downtown this weekend, as pedestrian traffic is expected to see significant increases.
Greek Fest is an annual Rockford ethnic festival that offers the community an opportunity to taste authentic Greek food, listen and dance to Greek and American music, watch the internationally-known Olympian Dancers while enjoying beverages from the “taverna,” and feasting on delicious homemade Greek pastries from the bakery.
Admission is free.
