Attorney Ian Linnabary selected to fill open Park District board seat vacated by death of Chuck Brown

Attorney Ian Linnabary has been selected to fill the Rockford Park District Board of Commissioners seat vacated by the death of former Commissioner Chuck Brown in May.
The Park District Board of Commissioners made the decision at a July 26 meeting. Linnabary will serve until April 2013, the next regularly scheduled commisioner election. He will take the oath of office at the Aug. 9 board meeting.
Linnabary, 37, is a partner at the law firm Reno & Zahm LLP, and has extensive board and community volunteer experience.
Linnabary ran for commissioner in the last general election held in 2009, when Brown and Tyler Smith were elected to the two open seats.
Linnabary is married to Amy, and they have three children. He is an avid runner and bicyclist, and looks forward to doing his part in service of the district’s vision to be the “best” urban park and recreation system in North America, as judged by those it serves.
