Forest City Queen offers ‘Cruisin’ on the Rock’ series

A unique view with a different theme each time you set sail — it’s a brand-new experience being offered by the Rockford Park District Foundation.

“Cruisin’ on the Rock” is a series of themed cruises on the beautiful Rock River, and it all starts with the Brews Cruise July 28, and Sip and Sail takes place Sept. 15.

Cruises on the Forest City Queen depart from the Riverview Ice House dock at 324 N. Madison St., in downtown Rockford. Before boarding the cruise, enjoy live entertainment and networking on land.

By buying a boarding pass, you are supporting the Rockford Park District Foundation, whose mission is to assist the Rockford Park District by securing philanthropic support on its behalf, and enhancing awareness of the district’s benefits to the community.

Brews Cruise — Sponsored by Artale Wine Company and Stewart Pizzeria. Cost of the July 28 event is $35 per person. Festivities start at 5 p.m. with a social hour, 6 p.m. boarding time, and 7:30 p.m. docking time. Rain date is Aug. 4. Enjoy a one-hour and 30-minute cruise that includes tasting 10 imported and domestic beers, pizza and a laid-back lesson in beer history from the on-board expert. Exclusive, very delicious and one-of-a-kind, this experience features tasting, mingling and more. All guests must be at least 21 years old with valid ID to board.
