McDonald’s on Harrison re-opens at 4 a.m., July 28 — first 100 customers to receive free Extra Value Meals for a year

Online Staff Report

The first 100 customers to the newly remodeled McDonald’s at 4403 Harrison Ave., Rockford, will receive free Extra Value Meals once a week for one year. Doors open at 4 a.m., July 28, and a restaurant spokesman said people were already lining up as of 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 27.

The Harrison location was one of Rockford’s busiest McDonald’s locations prior to a September 2010 fire that closed the restaurant for 10 months.

The restaurant will offer specials throughout the rest of the month and feature a live balloon artist, Ronald McDonald and other attractions.

A food drive for the Northern Illinois Food Bank will be held July 28-Aug. 6, and the restaurant will donate 25 cents of every value meal sold between Aug. 21-31 to the United Way.

The new restaurant is one of the most modern in the area, and features two flat-screen televisions.

The Harrison Avenue McDonald’s can be reached at (815) 394-2049.
