Police arrest man in relation to armed robbery, car jacking

During the past several weeks, the Rockford Police Department has been investigating several armed robberies to citizens and vehicular hijacking in several different areas of the city. During the course of the investigation, a suspect, Antawan L. Zills, was developed.

Thursday, July 28, Zills was taken into custody on a warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. Zills was also charged with armed robbery for an incident that occurred in the 1800 block of Randolph Drive July 16 and aggravated vehicular hijacking for an incident that occurred in the 2800 block of Kenmore Avenue July 25.

Zills was subsequently lodged in the Winnebago County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of bond.
