Remember the Democrats …
With the 2012 election cycle already under way, I want everyone to remember some key facts about the record of the Democratic party as they try to garner your vote.
Remember it was exclusively Democrats here in Illinois that raised taxes and imposed new ones on every individual and business in the state.
Remember the Democrats are responsible for passing Obamacare and its unconstitutional individual mandate.
Remember it was Democrats who blocked any reforms to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, which might have mitigated the recession.
Remember the Democrats are the ones insistent upon raising taxes to cover their spending binge in this debt limit debate.
Remember that Democrats care more about wealth redistribution than job creation.
Remember it is Democrats who refuse to allow this nation to become energy independent by blocking efforts to drill for more oil, mine more coal or build new nuclear power plants.
Remember Democrats are the ones constantly talking about “rights” for this or that, but deny the right to life for the innocent unborn children snuffed out of existence by abortion.
Remember it was a Democrat that promised nearly $1 trillion in spending would keep the unemployment rate below 8 percent.

Good letter, you should send it in again before November 2012.
However, keep in mind the storm is brewing. Sooner or later some unemployed Democrat will come forth frothing at the mouth that you would dare to accuse the protectors of all that is good of such nefarious doings.
Please remember what the Tea Party just did to the credit of the United States (check the stock market today), the shutting down of the FAA, the inability to negotiate, the killing of new jobs, the refusal to tax the rich on par with the middle class, the attack on Medicare, the attack on Social Security, and the list goes on and on. To the Republicans who voted in fear of the Tea Party, we will remember you at election time. If this is protecting the good, we are all in deep deep trouble. Come the time to vote, I repeat we will remember and people who can reason and think will hopefully be elected to office.
Susan, almost everything you wrote is incorrect and bass-ackwards. Who threatened to stop SS checks from going out (which was a bluff)? Who pays the most in taxes and what is the percentage of people that pay $0? Is the Tea Party an actual political party? Moody’s and S&P said they would downgrade our credit regardless because the SPENDING was outrageous, not the taxes on the evil corporate jet owners.
Dan, I am correct you are wrong. Read the Wall Street Journal. The Tea Party people have their own agenda and do not even remotely understand the give and take necessary for sucessful politics. Your comments about Moody’s and S&P is wrong. The inability of the country to prove that it can responsibly handle the dept is the problem. Ultimately, the ratings from the United States rating companies were not downgraded. However, the Chinese rating service did downgrade our credit rating. The behavior of Congress made us look unstable to the rest of the world. The Tea Party does not have the strength in numbers to run independently, and for the most part ran as Republicans. However, their method of trying to hold others hostage cost millions in the FAA debacle. Who pays the most taxes? The middle class. There was just an AP article today that said many millionaires pay no tax at all. Also, when you disagree with someone it is more polite to say, I disagree with you and these are my facts to refute what you said.

Susan, his president is presiding over the most significant economic failure in American history. Its no one else’s fault, other than Obama and the democratic,s socialist agenda.
The Tea Party was formed grass root american’s because of Obama…pure and simple. Democrat’s can continue to blam Bush, the Tea Party, Fox News, Rush, Beck and other’s but that was never an effective excuse for presidential failure.
Increased spending with no honest effort to cut the deficit by this administration led to the decrease in our credit limit. The democrats want to increase taxes with no viable plan or assurances that the increased revenue would psy down out debt.
You need to get off the party line. The republicans did not hold the FAA funds hostage, it was the democrats trying to attach an ammendment to increase unionization of the employees (buy voters) that caused the delay.

Those 8 million jobs created by Bush were low paying jobs that he then lost in 2008 and early 2009. Democrats did not do enough to regulate the financial markets, because the tea party doesn’t want regulations.
Free-market capitalism has failed everywhere it has been tried. Europe and Canada have kept unemployment lower than the U.S. with their lefter government. In 1933 Government spending dropped the unemployment rate 9% in a year. So…why are we doing that? Again, facts have a liberal bias.

There is just so much wrong with the original letter, factual errors.
- Some Republicans, even local ones, have chosen to raise taxes in their own jurisdictions.
- Republicans have previously pushed for the deregulation of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, which led to some of those institutions’ problems. (Get more people into homes was the Bush administration mantra.)
- Raising the debt limit is/was about authorizing payments for EXISTING debt, existing bills, not authorizing new programs.
- Wealth distribution? We have the biggest disparity in wealth distribution now than we have ever had, and how has that help our current situation?
- Right to life. The right to life movement should cut a deal with the gay marriage folks and agree to disagree, and to error on the side of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
- We are going after more coal, we have lifted some restrictions on oil, and we’re pushing for more gas utilization. But we will never be energy independent using coal, oil, or nuclear.
- Congress approves spending, not the President.
And to Dan, Moody’s and S&P did comment on both revenue and expenditures needing to be addressed.
