• Five bands to perform in benefit for PAWS Humane Society

PAWS Humane Society will hold a day of peace, love, music and celebration from noon to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 7, at the SM&SF Club Park, 7625 Kishwaukee St.

PAWS asks you to join all brothers, sisters and flower children, and bring your four-legged friends and feel the music of five cool bands belting out the tunes: Prime Time Live Band, Hope Despite, Lizzi Neal, Whalebone and The Sensations.

Vendors, raffles, cold beverages, delicious food and appetizing brownies will make you say, “Far out, man.”

Tickets are $5 in advance and are available online at www.PAWSHS.org or at the following outlets: Lasercare, 1631 Rural St.; Custom Copy, 2619 Charles St.; CD Source, 221 E. State St.; Culture Shock, 2314 Charles St.; Four PAWS ReSale Boutique Thrift Store, 1414 N. Main St.; and Steve’s Auto Repair, 2013 Harrison Ave.

Tickets at the gate will be $7. All proceeds benefit PAWS Humane Society, a nonprofit volunteer foster-based animal rescue group that helps animals in need in the Winnebago and Boone County areas.
