Fund-raiser for Black Oak Club Aug. 6 at Stockholm Inn

The Black Oak Club is holding a fund-raising dinner in the Family Room at the Stockholm Inn at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, to raise money for a new entertainment venue in the Rockford area.
The dinner will feature food, a raffle and artists from the community speaking about the importance of having a venue to support local culture.
John Stephenson and Sam Maranto of Thresholds Radio will broadcast live from the event.
The Black Oak Club is a proposed bar/nightclub in the Rockford area catering to those who enjoy a drink with friends who share their interest in the arts, music, entertainment and fun. Events will include bands, art showings, literary contests, open mic nights, discussion groups, performances and weekend dancing.
Dinner will be provided with the purchase of any ticket, which will include the Stockholm Inn buffet and a beverage. Attendees who purchase $50 tickets will receive a free lifetime basic membership to the Black Oak Club. Attendees who purchase $100 tickets will receive a free lifetime executive membership to the Black Oak Club and special recognition at the fund-raising dinner.
