Anti-abortion activists to take to Rockford streets Aug. 9 with graphic images
Online Staff Report
Tuesday, Aug. 9, anti-abortion activists will line east-side roads in Rockford, holding pictures of preborn babies juxtaposed with huge graphic photographs of aborted babies.
Members of Pro-Life Action League, coordinators of the Face the Truth tour, said the pictures are a controversial tactic that always generate a level of offended opposition.
“It’s not pretty,” said Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League.
Face the Truth will line the streets at Riverside Boulevard and Alpine Road right after the morning rush hour, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The tour will move along Alpine Road to East State Street, where the displays will remain from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At 3 p.m., the Pro-Life Action League and friends will take the message to the final location of the day, East State Street and Perryville Road, where the event wraps up at 4:30 p.m.
Scheidler said past Face the Truth tours have generated immediate results.
“We’ve had women come us to and thank us,” Scheidler said. “With their abortions already scheduled, they saw our pictures and it changed their hearts.”

There is no reason why my children have to be subjected to these photos of graphic images. You want to oppose abortion and share your belief, that is freedom of speech, but to have these images out, where I cannot shield them from my mentally sensitive children, violates MY right.
